CELAD recruits several profiles on behalf of its clients such as:

DB Administrator

The database administrator (DBA) is the engineer in charge of the database servers, generally decision-making or interpersonal (OLAP) ones, at all levels: design of the databases, validation testing, coordination of users, operation, security and access control.
Skills that are required for this task are multiple: system, development, security and knowing how to operate on database servers. Experience is the key. ADBA works closely with the system administrators and the developers within an IT department.

The DBA is mainly in charge of:

  • Implementation of standards, recommendations and good practices,
  • Evaluation of needs and quality,
  • Database modeling,
  • Definition and management of storage capacity,
  • Data integrity,
  • Data security access,
  • Data recovery,
  • Basic maintenance,
  • Disaster recovery,
  • Performance maintenance,
  • Tuning,
  • Help development and testing,
  • Data flow management,
  • Migration and updates.

 

Network administrator

A network admin is in charge of network administration, for instance managing the accounts and all network equipment in an company.
That mayinclude hubs, switches, routers, modems, firewalls, proxies, internet connectivity, VPN (virtual private networks).
The administrator is often assisted by an engineer architect who conceives the network architecture (see also DMZ, DNS, LAN, NAT, SAN, WAN).

The network administrator may also act as system administrator, in which case they will also be in charge of workstation (PC, Mac) and server management.

They may be in charge of one or more of the following tasks :

  • cable management (physical connection in between equipments).
  • Routing management (logical connection between inside and outside the network or in between sub-networks).
  • Security management (Antivirus protection, firewall, etc.)
  • User access management (network access, etc.).
  • etc.

Required Skills and qualities:

  • Knowledge in hardware
  • knowledge about OSI Network layers protocol.
  • Protocol communication layers (TCP/IP for example).
  • Strong drive and stress resistance.
  • Be responsive and have good organizational skills.
